Our fundraising target is €3,000.
Can you help us reach it?
We are travelling, together with our sister(-in-law) Jill, to volunteer with Christ Centred Ministries, Sierra Leone (CCMSL) on a project which aims to build, equip and develop a centre for worship, education and training for the local community.
A decade-long civil war left many displaced people living on the outlined areas of the capital city Freetown. There is a lack of much needed services and amenities outside the city – schools, churches, skills training facilities, health, electricity, water, etc – against the backdrop of a rapidly growing population.
The CCMSL project is located about 20 minutes from Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital city. Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa that is bordered by Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. The country has a tropical climate, with a diverse environment ranging from savannah to rainforests and an estimated population of 6 million.
We have a fundraising goal of €3,000 (between both of us) for the trip. There are two main ways you can help:

Sahr Yambasu is the minister in Kilkenny Methodist Church where our family is part of the congregation. Sahr is the reason we got involved in the project and the one looking after us when we get to Sierra Leone. Here is short video where you can see the centre and listen to Sahr tell some of the story of how it came to be.
